Heli-Basket 2000

The Heli-Basket® is a multiple person rescue device that enhances the capability of any Helicopters rescue misssion. The design derived from the need to maximise the numbers of rescuees in a single mission, and minimize recovery time during the life crtitical “Golden Hour”. The Heli-Basket® is not CG sensitive. It maintains aerodynamic stability regardless or load placement, manouver or air speed. It has been test flown with symmetrical and asymmetrical loads at speeds up to 120kts without any adverse aerodynamic effects The Heli-Basket® is available in sizes that can support virtually all types of helicopter:

• HB 1000 – 6 Person Rescue Platform
• HB 2000 – 15 Person Rescue Platform

Heli-Basket 2000 HB1000

Designed for transport of up to 6 People.   Empty weight 240lbs (110kg).   Max gross weight 1600lbs (720kg).   Bifold or full opening end gates for ease of entry in all situations.   Internal dimensions 55 x 33 x 42 inches (45 cubic feet).   Aerodynamically stable at up to 120kts airspeed in all load configurations.   Can be fitted with flotation aids.   Can be supplied with electrical power, light and communications (with Electric Long Line).   Suitable for rescue of conscious or unconscious casualties, infants, the elderly or infirm ie the whole human demographic.  

Heli-Basket 2000 HB2000

Designed for transport of up to 15 People or 2,045kg (4,500lbs) of cargo (Max gross weight 2,342kg (5,150lbs)).

Heli-Basket Electric Long Line – No Static Discharge!

The long line is a heavy-duty rope made from high-strength, synthetic fiber with (or optionally without) electrical conductors. The basic long line has a working load limit that is rated up to to 30,000 lb with a minimum 6 Xsafety factor. The stretch at failure is only 5%, making this a light-weight, high-strength, low-stretch cable. The electric long line consists of our long line and an attached electric cable containing 3 (14 AWG) conductors. The electric cable provides electric power to a remotely-controlled hook which can be attached to the lower end of the long line. The long lines described above are used to carry the Heli-Basket®s and any of the Remote Release Hooks that we manufacture. Typical Technical Data Summary:

Heli-Basket Remote Release Cargo Hook and Hand Controller

PURPOSE: To provide immediate access, point to point logistics, increased safety for ground crews, reduced hook up times and depending on line length, elimination of brown outs and white outs. The Remote Release Cargo Hook is used at the lower end of the Electric Long line and allows the load to be ’hooked up’ whilst the helicopter remains in a high hover, away from obstacles and danger.

• Without the helicopter having to land, thereby increasing the speed of

Heli-Basket Pendulum and Remote Release Cargo Hook

Normal external load operations require that the ground crew connect the reach pendants or sling to the airframe cargo hook. The operations require precise hovering and alignment of the Helicopter relative to the load. The Pendulum Hook system improves all aspects of the operation:

• Safety: Ground crew remains clear of fuselage and landing gear.
• Faster Hookups
• Integrated Swivel
• Reduces equipment requirements and cycle times for Vert Rep
• No static discharge!
• Minimal flight and ground crew training requirement
• Each Pendulum line incorporates 3 X 4500lb D-Rings imbedded into the lift line.

Attached to the Pendulum line is a ICS cord with a press to talk switch. Also wireless capable. NOTE: Facilitates the emergency extraction of ground crew members and allows communication with cabin crew. The D-Rings and communications cord can be incorporated into any length 10k and 30K line.
